The buzz in our office is a brand new restaurant in town called MoJos on 86th. The fundamental reasons this restaurant will be successful are quality and reputation. The meals are creative and fresh. The chef's reputation preceeds the restaurant. It makes me think, "How hard will it be to market this new venture?'
In my previous life as a sales rep for a book company, I found the same to be true. Marketing and sales begin with the source. Successful marketing plans and ultimately positive sales results depend on successful products or services.
And I can attest to the fact that the same concept holds true for e-newsletters and e-mail offers. A newsletter will be successful if the content is top quality, retains a strong reputation by being relevant and targeted, and is creative and fresh. A whole host of additional factors can improve this success as we work hard at technical clarity, improved deliverability, overcoming invalid filters, etc.
But the main thing to remember is this: Strive to be as desirable and fresh as the menu at your favorite restaurant!
